Manèges are a series of debates initiated by The Marechalerie, Contemporary Art Center of the National School of architecture of Versailles. An artist, an architect and a social sciences speaker are invited to discuss social, scientific or political issues : themes related to architecture and urban planning, current topics, etc.. These meetings give rise to lively exchanges and new approaches.
This year, theorists and artists are invited to exchange views on contemporary landscape and its multiple versions. It is hoped that the thinking and the practice of landscape will be dissociated from decorative or utilitarian arrangement. This debates series focuses on the theme "Landscape as an artistic variation".
