The teaching in ENSA Dijon is characterized by the presence of teachers who are leading parallel careers as artists, designers, architects, philosophers, historians or art critics, thus creating a large permeability between the life of the school and professional life. Students are given each year tuition in two major subjects: either Art or Space Design, devised as symmetrical and complementary subjects. Students are trained to a concrete practice of production or reproduction techniques that are necessary for contemporary expression, starting from the most traditional ones to the new technologies. Courses in art history, aesthetics and philosophy are on the curriculum all throughout the years of study. They are completed by lectures, creation and research workshops, study trips in France and abroad and courses that foster various methods of approach to creation.
Manola Antonioli , professor of theory of design and architecture invited the Association to present the work of Etienne Boulanger to students of the school.
"Etienne Boulanger has experienced a form of nomadic lifestyle in urban areas. Protean artist, he made ??the city his playground. In cities that are symbols of the metropolization process, like Berlin , Tokyo, Beijing or New York, he built a strategic reflexion on ways to infiltrate and interfere with vacant spaces.
Katia Gagnard was Etienne Boulanger's partner. After gratuated with an art diploma in 2000 in Nancy, she assisted the artist during the production of some of his projects. She was a registrar at the Centre for Contemporary Art La Synagogue de Delme from 2004 to 2008 and since then work as a registrar in charge of exhibitions at Frac Alsace. She is president of the Association Etienne Boulanger, founded in 2009 , which contributes to the communication of the work of the artist, supports the publication of books and participates in the organization of exhibitions and conferences.
